Susquehanna Bank



James G. Pierné, CEO of Susquehanna Bank and EVP of Susquehanna Bancshares Inc., recently was elected chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association (MBA).

As chairman, Pierné will play a key role in representing the members' interests to policymakers at the state and federal levels. He also will lead the MBA's board of directors and executive committee and work directly with the association's president and CEO on all matters relating to the banking industry.

Pierné joined the MBA's board of directors in 2003 and was elected to its executive committee in 2006. He has served as chairman of the association's Government Relations Council and Education Council, as well as chairman of Maryland BankPAC. He also has served on the Maryland Banking School board of trustees.

Pierné earned his master's degree in business administration from Loyola College and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware and the Community Bank Presidents' School at Emory University.

Pierné, who has 33 years of banking experience, was named The Herald-Mail's Person of the Year in 2004.

Potomac Bancshares



CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Keith B. Berkeley recently was appointed to the board of directors of Potomac Bancshares Inc., the one-bank holding company of the Bank of Charles Town.

Berkeley, a licensed veterinarian, is president and owner of Valley Equine Associates PLLC in Ranson, W.Va.

Berkeley majored in animal science at Clemson (S.C.) University and received his doctor of veterinary medicine in 1984 from Tuskegee University.

Berkeley became a diplomate with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in January, becoming certified in equine practice.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA



WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Daniel "Danny" Carroll recently joined the staff of the Waynesboro office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA as a sales professional.

Carroll is a member of Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS) Multi-List, Pen Mar Regional Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. He is attending Jack Gaughen's AccelERAtion program, an intensive five-week course designed for in-depth training to give new agents a head start in the real estate business.

Antietam Bible College



Beverly Hannah has been appointed dean of Christian education at Antietam Bible College.

Hannah holds a master's degree in secondary education from Towson (Md.) University. She has 30 years of teaching experience in public, Christian and community college environments.

Hannah's new position includes a women's ministry program that is designed for either college credit or noncredit continuing education. During the fall semester, the course offered will be Biblical Philosophy of Womanhood.

Callas Contractors



Charles Hadley and James Smith were named Safest Employee winners for June at Callas Contractors.

Hadley has worked at Callas for 30 years, and Smith has worked at Callas for almost three years.
