Clevelandtown School plans reunion

Alumni of the Clevelandtown Country School will hold their 20th reunion Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Boonsboro American Legion, 710 N. Main St. on U.S. 40, the Old National Pike, north of Boonsboro at the intersection of Lappans Road.

Lions to hold meeting

The Sharpsburg Lions Club will hold a regular meeting at their Den Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. The Lions meet at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St., Sharpsburg.


PVFC to hold steak dinner

The Potomac Valley Fire Co., at 2202 Dargan School Road in the community of Dargan, six miles south of Sharpsburg on Harpers Ferry Road, will hold a steak dinner Saturday, Aug. 9. Doors open at 5:30; and dinner will be served at 6. The menu includes steak, baked potato, baked beans, coleslaw, rolls and tea. Drinks are BYOB. Tip jars will be available. It's singing time again at worship center

Antietam Ironworks to hold tea series

Natoma Reed-Vargason of Antietam Ironworks and Judy Larkin, "The Tea Lady," are combing their talents to present The Third Thursday Tea Series, a series featuring a different tea-related program and seasonal tea menu each month. Using recipes from The Tea Lady's afternoon tea recipe book, Reed-Vargason will prepare a variety of tea sandwiches, desserts and home-made scones, all served on elegant English bone china accompanied with imported vintage tea accoutrements.

As part of Reed-Vargason and Antietam Ironworks' commitment to serve food provided by local growers who embrace environmentally sound methods, all ingredients for these savory delights will be fresh from the garden of Antietam Ironworks or produced by local growers.
