McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A Bedford County, Pa., woman was killed Tuesday evening in a head-on collision on Pa. 26 in Union Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Fulton County.

Amy Elbin, 21, of 1500 Barnes Road, Artemas, Pa., was killed in the 8:55 p.m. crash. Elbin was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle, Aaron Elbin, 23, of 180 Silver Mills Road, Artemas, was taken to Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.

Amy Elbin was driving a 1997 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck north on Pa. 26 when she lost control on a curve and went into the southbound lane, colliding with a 1996 Nissan Maxima driven by Aaron Elbin.

A hospital spokesman said Wednesday night that Aaron Elbin was no longer there and had been transferred to another facility or discharged.

Amy Elbin and Aaron Elbin are related, but are not members of the same immediate family, a police communications officer said.

The Orleans (Md.) Fire Department and a Hancock, Md., ambulance assisted at the scene, police said.
