Free movie night planned

On Saturday, Aug. 16, Grace United Methodist Church's Disciple Group will host a free move night at the parking lot across from the church on the corner of Winter and Church streets.

The Disciple Group will be showing the movie "Pinocchio."

During the movie, free hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones and drinks will be offered.

Kindly bring a chair for you and your family to enjoy the event.

Church to honor pastor

Ebenezer AME Church in Hagerstown will celebrate the birthday of its pastor, the Rev. Leroy Jackson, on Sunday.

Although he often shares his birthday celebration with Grace Snively, this year was a bit different. Snively turned 95 recently and the church didn't want the celebrations to overlap.

So this Sunday the church will have a double blessing for him as it will host an Appreciation Day/Birthday Celebration for Rev. Jackson. The congregation will thank him for his many years of service to the church and the community.
