GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Continued roadwork on Interstate 81 will lead to more traffic restrictions for the coming week.
The flow of traffic will be limited to a single lane most nights Tuesday through Friday on both sides of I-81 from the state line to Exit 5 at Pa. 16, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced in a news release.
That will be due to work on guardrails, the news release stated.
Also, crews plan to saw and seal pavement joints from Aug. 4 to 8, according to the news release.
The affected section of I-81 averages 24,000 to 26,000 vehicles in each direction per day. The work is part of a repair and resurfacing project scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
PennDOT has a $4.9 million contract with Valley Quarries Inc. of Chambersburg, Pa., for the highway improvement project on almost seven miles.
