Hager House staff in need of 'friends'

The Hager House staff is seeking a wide range of volunteers for its new "friends" program. Volunteer opportunities include gardening, guest service, special event guides and costumed guides for the Autumn Arts Festival, as well as many other opportunities to become involved with the original home of Hagerstown's founder. The Jonathan Hager House and Museum is at 110 Key St. in City Park.

Baltimore Symphony performs classic rock

BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform tributes to two classic rock bands, the Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin, in early August.

The symphony will play "Dead Symphony No. 6" at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St. in Baltimore. Tickets were still available this past week in the range of $25 to $43, plus service charge. For tickets, call 877-270-1444 or go to www.bsomusic.org.

The symphony will perform Led Zeppelin hits with a live rock band at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Pier Six Concert Pavilion, 731 Eastern Ave. in Baltimore.
