Homemakers clubs mark 90 years of service to community

July 27, 2008

The annual meeting for the Washington County Homemakers marked more than 90 years of community service and home life education for nine clubs of approximately 200 members in Washington County.

The theme for this year's meeting was "School Days." A replica of Hagerstown High School, made by member Millie Wilson, served as a backdrop for the June 23 luncheon meeting at Next Dimensions Restaurant. Special exhibits included old school photographs.

Fifteen of the members present attended Hagerstown High School, as well as Julia Miller, who taught at the school from 1954-1955.
