Religion: Speakers

St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Scott Bellows will preach Sunday at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services. The summer choir will sing at the later service. Sunday school classes for all ages will resume in September.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will preach Sunday at the 8:15 a.m. chapel communion service and 10:30 a.m. alternate worship service on the topic "Some Similes." Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:15 a.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Eric Norgard is preacher/celebrant Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. praise worship service and the 10:45 a.m. evangelical service. Greg Shook, director of Hagerstown Choral Arts, is guest organist.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark Mooney will lead the service Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for Christmas in July on the topic "The Kingdom Life." Sunday school resumes in the fall.

First Baptist Church, Pastor Thom Smith will speak Sunday at the 11 a.m. service on the topic "When a Deacon Is Not a Deacon." Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the Rev. Mary Wehr will speak Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, the Rev. Robert Jones will be the speaker Sunday at the 10 a.m. service. The topic is "The Holy Spirit Today." Bible Study for all ages is at 9 a.m. Evening worship with the Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries are at 6 p.m. with the topic "Fasten Your Grips." Wednesday Oasis services, Bible study and NuVision Youth is at 7 p.m. The topic is "Concepts of the Kingdom."

Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Al Clipp will speak Sunday at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services on the topic "The Basis of Hope." Sunday school begins at 9 a.m.

Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Pastor Larry Weber will speak Sunday at the 10:40 a.m. service on the topic "Excel in the Best." Christian education for all ages is at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday Bible study and prayer is at 7 p.m.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 14106 National Pike, Clear Spring, Seminarian Regina Beard will speak Sunday at 8:15 a.m. There also will be a children's sermon. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 14615 Fairview Church Road, Clear Spring, Seminarian Regina Beard will speak Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There also will be a children's sermon. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Zion United Church of Christ, the Rev. Wayne Warren will speak Sunday at the 10 a.m. service.

Sunday school resumes in the fall. Alternative worship service will be Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The topic is "Facts That Don't Fit My Faith."

Church of the Holy Trinity UCC, Halfway, the Rev. Timothy Leighton will speak Sunday during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on the topic "Glimpses of the Heavenly Kingdom." Children's church is during worship at 9:30 a.m. Adult Bible study is at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school for children resumes in the fall.

Tri-State Fellowship, Chris Wiles will speak Sunday at the classic service at 9:15 a.m. Peter Frey is at the cafe service and Eric Boutieller will speak at the bridge service at 11 a.m. The topic is "Courageous Steps of Faith - Jonathan and David."

Church of Christ in the Great Valley, 7306 Wheeler Road, Boonsboro, Paul Toothman will speak Sunday at 10 a.m. on the topic "Can You Hear Me Now? Good!" Wednesday night services begin at 7.

New Beginning Community Church, corner of Dual Highway and Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, Pastor Mark Snyder will speak Sunday at the 11 a.m. service on the topic "No Photography Please." LeAnne Snyder will bring music. Mission Fuge campers will be at the service. A series on the Book of Romans will be Wednesday at 7 p.m.

St. Peter's (Beard's) Lutheran Church, Old Forge Road, the Rev. David Baker will speak Sunday at the 9:15 a.m. service. The topic is "Like a Mustard Seed."

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, the Rev. Randall Reid will speak Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on the topic "When Sweet Dreams Turn to Sour Grapes."

Church school is at 10:45 a.m.

Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, the Rev. Donna Ritchey Martin will speak Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. worship. The topic is "'Tis a Gift To Be Simple." Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m.

Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Larry Aikens will speak Sunday at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services on the topic "The Wells of Salvation." The evening service begins at 6 p.m. with Aikens speaking on "Lord, Please Bless Our Mess." Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday night prayer meeting and the regular children and teen programs are at 7 p.m.
