Berkeley County woman stabbed in head

boyfriend charged

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Berkeley County man was in Eastern Regional Jail on Thursday after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend with a pair of scissors, according to jail and county magistrate court records.

David Allen Lidie, 46, of 14 Seaquest Lane, was arraigned Thursday on felony counts of domestic battery third offense and malicious wounding, according to court records. He was being held on a $15,000 cash-only bond.

West Virginia State Police Trooper D.S. See said in a complaint that he and two other troopers went to the couple's home about 5:45 p.m. and found Lidie with blood on his arms standing in the yard.

Lidie's girlfriend was being loaded into an ambulance and was taken to City Hospital for treatment of a cut on her forehead about an inch long, See said.

Troopers found a pair of metal scissors covered in blood on a stereo in the living room, a large amount of blood in the kitchen and a blood-covered washcloth in the sink, See said.

The victim said the defendant threw a knife at her and it struck her in the head, See said. The defendant said he threw the scissors at her after they began arguing, See said.

Lidie previously had been convicted of domestic battery in December 2006 in Berkeley County and June 2002 in Warren County, Va., See said.
