HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - A woman who fell off an all-terrain vehicle as it was being ridden in the Keyes Ferry Acres subdivision last Saturday has died, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department spokesman said Thursday.

Deborah Nelson, 40, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia, where she had been treated following the accident, Cpl. Ben Williams said.

Nelson was a passenger on the ATV as it was traveling through the Blue Ridge Mountain subdivision about 5 p.m., Williams said.

The driver of the ATV fled after Nelson fell off and witnesses, as well as Nelson, had not been cooperative in identifying the driver, who still has not been found, Williams said.
