Along with the unveiling, the Fairplay Post Office is also collecting used ball gloves for a charity organization called "Pitch In For Baseball." The nonprofit organization collects and gives baseball equipment and offers assistance to young people around the world. The new Priority Mail large flat rate box allows everyone to ship as many gloves as they can fit in the box for the flat rate price of $12.95.
Arts Express work on display
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Council for the Arts has completed its summer 2008 series of Arts Express workshops. The program has enabled young people to work directly with professional artists in creating their own work of art including visual arts, crafts and music. An exhibit of the students' work will be on view today through Friday, Aug. 1, at F&M Trust, Memorial square. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular bank hours. An opening reception will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 25.
Pieces displayed will be representative of all locations visited by Arts Express, including BOPIC, YMCA Sam's Camp and Migrant Even Start program. Projects include collage, hand-made musical instruments, books and printed art. Call 717-264-6883.

Youth golf tournament
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Waynesboro YMCA would like to welcome any boy or girl in first through 12th grade to participate in the annual Funkie Memorial Golf Classic. The tournament is free to all youth. This tournament is in memory of the late Donald "Funkie" Funk.
