JFK 50 reaches entry limit

The 46th annual JFK 50 Mile ultramarathon, to be held Nov. 22 in Washington County, reached its entry limit Tuesday evening, race director Mike Spinnler said.

It filled in a record 22 days. No more entries will be accepted.

YOUTH SOFTBALL

Mason Dixon Blaze tryouts

The Mason Dixon Blaze fast-pitch softball organization will hold tryouts at Greencastle Little League Field on Aug. 16 and Aug. 23 at the following times: 10 a.m. to noon for 10U and 12U; 1 to 3 p.m. for 14U; and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 16U and 18U.

An additional tryout will be held Aug. 17 at Hagerstown Community College from 1 to 3 p.m. for 10U and 12U and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 14U, 16U and 18U.

Players should arrive 30 minutes early to fill out forms.

Blaze Pitching Clinic

The Mason Dixon Blaze travel softball organization will hold a pitching clinic on Aug. 7 at the Greencastle Baseball/Softball Complex.

The cost is $15 per entrant.

Fall ball registration

The Washington County Girls Softball League will hold fall ball registration for players in second through eighth grades at Kemp's Mill Softball Park in Williamsport on July 26 and Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon both days.
