Seton Outreach Center receives donation for its dental program

July 24, 2008

EMMITSBURG, Md. - The Seton Outreach Center, staffed by the Daughters of Charity and volunteers, was awarded a donation for its dental program from the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Frederick, Md.

Bonnie Rohr and Pat Wierzbicky, representing the Catholic Daughters, presented the check to Sisters Claire Debes, visitatrix, and Ellen Eisenberg, administrator of the center.

The dental program, one of several outreach programs, provides dental services to low-income adults in Frederick County who have no dental insurance. Fifty people have benefited from this program, and Sister Ellen projects that the program will serve another 25 this year. The Emergency Services Program gives assistance to low income families in terms of rent, utilities, gas, food, clothing, car insurance and repair, etc.

Women may also receive job search assistance. Another program that is just getting started is a computer outreach program where refurbished computers will be given to low-income families. You may learn more about the Seton Outreach Center at www.setoncenter.org.
