Md. police seek man who pointed handgun at officer

Montgomery County, Md., police are looking for a man who pointed a handgun at an officer during a fight Wednesday. The handgun was stolen during an August 2006 burglary at Wilbar Truck Equipment Inc., 21821 Jefferson Boulevard in Hagerstown, Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore said Friday afternoon.

After pulling the gun at an officer in the 2300 block of Ladymeade Drive in the Longmead area of Silver Spring, Md., the man ran, police said.

He was described as black, between 19 and 25 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds, Montgomery County Police said in a news release.

On July 3, the sheriff's department received information that another gun stolen during the August 2006 burglary had been found when police in Fairfax County, Va. served a search warrant, Mullendore said.
