Signal work will affect traffic patterns at U.S. 40-Mt. Aetna intersection Sunday

The Washington County Engineering Department has announced temporary changes to traffic patterns at the intersection of U.S. 40 and Mt. Aetna Road this weekend.

Rob Slocum, deputy director of public works for capital projects engineering, Rob Slocum, said that the contractor for the intersection improvement project will be performing traffic signal work on Sunday, July 20, from 5:30 a.m. until noon. The existing traffic signal at the intersection will be out of service as the work occurs.

Left turns will not be permitted from either direction of U.S. 40 onto Mt. Aetna Road while the work is occurring. Detours will be posted.

Traffic on U.S. 40 will be maintained in both directions as the work takes place. The public is urged to use caution while proceeding through this intersection.
