Hagerstown man sentenced to 18 months for assaulting then-wife

A Hagerstown man was sentenced Thursday to serve 18 months' imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-wife in April, according to Washington County District Court records.

Terry Lee Bryan, 43, formerly of 408 E. Franklin St., also must serve three years of supervised probation, during which time he is forbidden from contacting his ex-wife and must abstain from alcohol and complete anger management and parenting classes, Judge Mark D. Thomas ruled.

Bryan's full sentence was six years, with 4 1/2 years suspended, according to court records.

Four other charges in the case were dropped, including first-degree assault and false imprisonment, according to court records.

Bryan was granted credit for 103 days of jail time already served, according to court records.
