BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - The Town of Bath Police Department has some new faces in uniform.

At Tuesday night's Bath Town Council meeting, Mayor Susan J. Webster swore in Kevin Barney and Scott Lemon, Morgan County Sheriff's Department deputies; John Miller, a former Morgan County Sheriff's Department deputy; and Chris Yost, a City of Winchester (Va.) firefighter.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Department is filling in to help the town police department, Webster said.

"They will be paid by the Town of Bath, they will be in Town of Bath uniforms and write Town of Bath tickets when working for the town," Webster said.

Bath Police Department Cpl. Craig Pearrell has been working as the acting police chief, but he is being deployed overseas with his military unit in the near future, he said.

Morgan County Sheriff's Department Deputy Tony Link was already sworn in and has been helping out at the police department, Pearrell said.

"The guys will be doing this on their time away from their regular jobs," he said.

"This will give ample coverage to the town throughout the week," he said.

The schedules will be set by Link, and Sheriff Ronnie McIntire will oversee the administrative duties, Pearrell said.
