Man charged in Martinsburg stabbing incident

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Virginia man ran to the Martinsburg police station Sunday morning after being stabbed at an apartment just a few blocks away.

James N. Jordan, 32, of Clear Brook, Va., was stabbed in his upper right shoulder about 5 a.m., according to a police press release. Jordan told police he was stabbed at 302 W. Race St. in Martinsburg.

Police charged Charles Redman, 40, of no fixed address, with malicious wounding in connection with Jordan's stabbing, police said.

Police said a witness saw a verbal altercation between Jordan and Redman become physical. Redman allegedly stabbed Jordan with a folding knife, police said.

Redman was taken to Eastern Regional Jail and was awaiting arraignment, police said.
