Franklin County school retirees present awards, scholarship

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees presented awards at its general membership meeting.

A $500 scholarship was presented to Melanie Crider, a graduate of Fannett Metal High School. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, where she plans to study nursing.

The Loretta Woodson Education Award was presented to Sharon Weller, a Fannett Metal guidance counselor, and to Deborah Frame, Fannett Metal's business manager. The award is given annually to recognize one teacher and one support professional within a school district or school.
