Kenneth L. Rose, 70

KEARNESYVILLE, W.Va. - Kenneth L. "K.L." Rose, 70, of Kearneysville, died Friday, July 11, 2008.

Born Feb. 24, 1938, in Snow Hill, N.C., he was the son of the late Edgar L. Rose and Ida Blanche Varnell Rose.

He retired in 1998 from Merchant's Machine shop.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, where he was a Eucharist minister.

He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosalie Markle Rose; one daughter, Amy Rose of Kearneysville; three sons, Kevin Rose of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Brett Rose of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Aaron Rose of Kearneysville; one sister, Connie Strickland of Farmville, N.C.; one brother, Edgar R. Rose of Conetoe, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelby Wooten and Brenda C. Webb; and three brothers, Bob Rose, Carl Rose and Charles Rose.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

Jerry L. Cormany, 60

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Jerry L. Cormany, 60, of 302 Meadow Drive and formerly of Culbertson, Pa., died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 3, 1947, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Floyd T. Cormany Jr. and Velva B. Sites Cormany.

He was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

He owned and operated Jerry's Auto Body in Culbertson.

He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church.

He was a member of Greene Township (Pa.) Lions Club.

He is survived by one sister, Peggy Hann of Lancaster, Pa.; two nieces; one nephew; grandnieces; and grandnephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Pastor Matthew Hann and Pastor Dennis Sites will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Ray W. Fickes Jr., 78, of 529 Coldspring Road, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born April 21, 1930, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Ray W. Fickes Sr. and Hilda Shaffer Fickes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Whitmore Fickes, in 2006. They were married March 4, 1950.

He was employed by Hess Manufacturing in Quincy, Pa., for more than 45 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was active with the Fayetteville Athletic Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah R. Reasner of Chambersburg and Wanda J. Fickes at home; three sisters; Ilo Johnson of Chambersburg, Darlene Hippenstill of Shippensburg, Pa., and Bonnie Carbaugh of Roxbury, Pa.; four brothers, Roger Fickes of Orrtanna, Pa., Larry Fickes and Mike Fickes, both of Fayetteville, and Rick Fickes of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Penny Fickes; and three brothers, Jay Fickes, Garnet Fickes and Ted Fickes.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. John Pogue will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Paul W. Seville, 91

Paul Woodrow Seville, 91, of Hagerstown, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born March 28, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late James Chalmers and Anna Grace Gordon Seville.

He retired from the shipping department at Brandt Cabinet Works.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.

He is survived by four nephews.

The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jerry Harper Sr., 59, of Harpers Ferry, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Feb. 8, 1949, in Point of Rocks, Md., he was the son of the late Charles William Harper and Mildred Loy Harper.

He was a retired welder with Canam Steel Corp. in Point of Rocks.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Bolivar International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Harpers Ferry.

He was a former member of Brunswick Fire Department and Friendship Fire Company of Harpers Ferry.
