St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Pastor Ed Heim will speak at the 8 and 11 a.m. services Sunday on the topic, Time to Check the Dirt. St. John's men's choir will sing at 8 a.m. and Claudia Patterson will perform at 11a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., an informal courtyard communion worship will include music by the New Spirit Praise Band.

Sunday school resumes in the fall.

Midweek Joy with communion is Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, Sunday, Robert Walker will speak at the 8:30 a.m. contemporary service on Preparing Your Ground.

Jack Harne will speak at the 10:30 a.m. traditional service on the topic, Don't Leave Home Without It.

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m.

Highland View Seventh-day Adventist Church, today at 11 a.m., a guest from the Mount Aetna Youth Camp will speak.

Small group Bible study begins at 9:45 a.m. and Vibrant Bible classes for children of all ages also are available.


Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, Pastor Bill Wyand will speak at the 10 a.m. service Sunday on the topic, Encourage and Pray for One Another.

Also at 10 a.m., adult and teen life small groups and Sunday Kids meet.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Sunday, the Rev. Patrick Pierce will be celebrant/preacher at the 9 a.m. communion service on the topic, Sowing Wild Seed.

Sunday school is at 9 a.m. The second Sunday breakfast begins at 10 a.m.

Mount Zion Episcopal Church, Hedgesville, W.Va., the Rev. Patrick Pierce will speak on the topic, Sowing Wild Seed, at the 10:45 a.m. prayer service.

Paramount Baptist Church, Pastor Larry Rickard will give a message entitled, A Mystical Experience, at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.

Rickard is conducting a Bible study on the Book of 1 Corinthians at the 6:50 p.m. service on Wednesdays during the prayers and Bible study. Children's activities begin at 6:15 p.m. and the youth group meets at 6 p.m.

Haven Lutheran Church, a traditional worship at 8:15 a.m. will be held in the church sanctuary Sunday with Pastor Linda Alessandri speaking on Matthew 13: 1-9, 18-23.

Worship on the Lawn is at 9:30 a.m.

Salem Reformed Church, the youth mission group will speak at the 9:30 a.m. service Sunday.

Church school begins at 10:40 a.m.

Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, Fairplay, a guest pastor will speak Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Cutting Edge Ministries, Bishop Clair Brinton will speak at the 11 a.m. service Sunday on the topic, Rapture.

Sunday school for children and youth is at 11 a.m. while adult classes are at 9:30 a.m.

Covenant Presbyterian Church, the 10 a.m. service Sunday will be led by the Rev. Jan Trammell-Savin. Her topic is Preparing the Soil.

Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Rick Remmers will speak at the 11 a.m. service today. The topic is The Great Escape.

Sabbath school starts at 9:30 a.m.

Potomac Charge, United Methodist churches of Big Pool, Sunday, the Rev. Scott Summers will speak on the topic, Passionate Worship.

Mount Carmel services are at 8:50 a.m. with Sunday school at 10 a.m.

Worship at St. Paul begins at 9:50 a.m. with Sunday school starting at 11:15 a.m.

The Park Head schedule is worship at 11 with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.

Concordia Lutheran Church, the Rev. James Murr Jr. will speak at the 8:15 a.m. noncommunion and 10:45 a.m. communion services Sunday. The topic is Handling Life with Jesus: When Doing The Right Thing Leaves You All Alone.

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. for all ages. Murr will lead the adult classes.
