Tourists rally late to beat Suns

Beau Seabury singled off Dan Leatherman for the game-winning RBI in the top of the 10th inning as the Asheville Tourists beat the Hagerstown Suns 9-8 Thursday at Municipal Stadium.

The Suns, who led 7-2 through seven innings, trailed 8-7 before Jose Lozada's two-out solo home run in the bottom of the ninth off Randall Taylor sent the game into extra innings.

Lozada finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs.

The Suns took a 3-0 lead in the first on a three-run homer by Michael Burgess, his 18th shot of the season.

They went up 4-0 in the second on a solo home run by Jake Rogers.

After Asheville cut it to 4-2 in the fourth, the Suns got two back in the fifth on an RBI single by Lozada and a sacrifice fly from Tim Pahuta.


Hagerstown extended its lead to 7-2 in the sixth on an RBI single by Rogers.

The Tourists rallied for four runs in the eighth off Suns relievers Ryan Harrison and Edulin Abreu to cut their deficit to 8-7.

They scored two more in the ninth off Abreu to take their first lead of the night.

Hagerstown starter Erik Arnesen pitched six strong innings, allowing two runs, four hits and three walks while striking out six.
