Bank to hold shredding day

My Bank First United will partner with RMS Shredding, a professional shredding company, to provide the Washington County community with free document shredding services.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 19. The event will be held at its Hagerstown community office, 130 S. Edgewood Drive in Hagerstown.

People may bring up to six boxes of sensitive and confidential documents for on-site shredding. All shredded paper will be recycled. Refreshments will be served. For information, call Charles Eichelberger at 301-791-3999.

Un-yard sale planned

Covenant Life Church, 1515 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, will host its Un-Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12.


An un-yard sale is a free yard sale, presented as an outreach to the Hagerstown community.

The sale will include clothing, knick-knacks, household items, linens, games, miscellaneous items and furniture.

Board member sought

Washington County Community Partnership for Children & Families is seeking a board member.

There is a need for a public representative from the following agencies: Housing authority (city or county), public safety agency, employment or vocational services agency, chief public defender, parole and probation or judge; and private citizens who are residents of Washington County, which may include the professional and business community, recipients of services, child service volunteers, leaders from the religious community, and providers of family services.
