Man and woman arrested in theft from Inwood bar

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - An Inwood, W.Va., man and woman have been arrested in connection with $2,600 that was stolen from JT's Bar at 6332 Winchester Ave., in Inwood, West Virginia State Police said Thursday.

Trooper Z.L. Nine received a call Saturday about the theft at the bar at 4 p.m. and was told that two individuals stole the money, according to a state police news release.

Nine was able to obtain a driver's license for a female suspect and a registration for a red 1987 Nissan, the release said.

Nine was patrolling the county for the suspects when he found the car near Shutz's Market at the intersection of Spec's Run Road and W.Va. 51.


Nine stopped the car for a traffic violation and identified the driver as Johnny James Watts and the passenger as Sandra Kay Luckenbaugh, the release said.

Nine patted down the driver and found a large amount of cash in the driver's right front pants pocket, the release said.

Watts, 52, was charged with DUI, driving suspended and possession of stolen property, the release said.

Nine said he searched the car and found a large amount of cash and a bag containing about 12 grams of marijuana in Luckenbaugh's purse, the release said.

Luckenbaugh was charged with permitting DUI, possession of stolen property and possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana, the release said.
