Around Smithsburg and Robinwood

July 09, 2008|By DARYLENE MOWEN

Happy birthday

Bob's birthday was finalized this week with a wonderful trip to Virginia Beach.  We enjoyed a delicious meal at Captain George's and the tranquility of the ocean waves as we walked along the beach.  I am not sure which one of our feline companions enjoyed the trip the most -- Ginger May, Sabrina Maria or Samantha Mingtoi -- but they are glad to be home and awaiting a ride on Bob's new bike, or maybe a ride in his new wheelbarrow.

This week was been filled with excitement, yet saddened by the loss of Bob's half brother, Pete Kinsey.

Pen Mar Park

The Holders will perform Sunday at Pen Mar Park as the summer concert series continues. This local variety band has been a regular at the park for many years. The group will be playing big band-era ballroom dance music from 2 to 5 p.m.
