Young musicians to perform Friday

The Coffee House for Young Musicians at the library is fast approaching. Show time is 7 p.m. Friday and will take place in the community room of the beautiful new facility. It's not too late for performers to get on the bill. Stop in at the library or call 301-432-5723.

Class of 1973 planning reunion

Wednesday is your chance to join in on the planning for the BHS Class of 1973 reunion in September. The committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Dave Meyers. Photos for the memories presentation will be accepted up until this meeting. Please be sure to share milestones in your life: weddings, birthdays, children and grandchildren. Reservation forms are now due for the two-day event scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27.

Flea market to benefit First Hose Co.

Attention bargain hunters! Don't forget that Saturday will be the first in a monthly series of flea market sales hosted by First Hose Co. of Boonsboro.

The sale will take place in the firefighters' parking lot adjacent to Shafer Park, just behind the convenience store. The fire department will have a chicken barbecue on the same date, with chicken available for pickup at the fire department on St. Paul Street.

Family Worship Center yard sale

Boonsboro Family Worship Center will also host a yard sale Saturday, which will include lunch and baked items. The worship center is just west of town on Alternate U.S. 40.

Turn the Page marks milestone

Turn the Page Bookstore Cafe will celebrate its 13th anniversary Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Plans include a signing with authors Nora Roberts, Diana Peterfreund, Donna Kauffman, Jeanne Adams and Catherine Asaro. Scrapbooking program planned

Looking ahead, the Boonsboro Library will host a scrapbooking night on Tuesday, July 22, in the community room beginning at 6 p.m. Local scrapbooking artist Dawn Enfield will demonstrate special techniques for displaying photos. Bring up to four of your favorite photos and a blank scrapbooking page of any size. To register, call the library at 301-432-5723.

Cheer tryouts to be held in August

Boonsboro High School will hold tryouts for the JV and varsity cheerleading squads on Aug. 11, 12 and 13 in the gym at the school. All three sessions will run from 5 to 8 p.m.
