Margaret Evelyn (Shupp) Mason, 95

SEPT. 25, 1912-JULY 5, 2008

WILLIAMSPORT - Margaret Evelyn (Shupp) Mason, 95, of 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, Md., and formerly of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Saturday July 5, 2008, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.

Born Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1912, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late John William Shupp and the late Mazie Anna Moore Shupp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas "Bud" Mason.

She was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed bowling along with her husband at Southside Bowl for many years.

She was the last surviving member of her family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald E. Mason; sisters Frances V. McCullagh and Mary Catherine Lum and brothers, J. Preston Shupp, Paul K. Shupp, William Sidney Shupp Sr. and John Summer Shupp.


Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring, with the Rev. Robert Martin officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, just prior to the graveside service.

Edomo P. Mazzer, 78

SHARPSBURG - Edomo Pietro "Ed" Mazzer, 78, of 5019 General Branch Court, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born Dec. 11, 1929, in Pen Argyl, Pa., he was the son of the late Bortolo and Augusta Costello Mazzer.

He was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, class of 1948 and Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., class of 1960.

He was employed with Antietam Battlefield as a park ranger serving as the Chief of I&RM until his retirement in 1991.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was of Catholic faith.

He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion Williamsport, W.D. Byron Post 1936 Veteran of Foreign Wars, Thomas Pangborn Lodge 88 Fraternal Order of Police, both of Hagerstown, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Riverview, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, A. Christine Sobleskie Mazzer; one daughter, Maura M. Mazzer of Riverview, and one son, Mark M. Mazzer of Falling Waters, W.Va.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Stephen E. Hook will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the services Tuesday. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Kirkland S. Price, 86

APRIL 23, 1922-JULY 4, 2008

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Kirkland S. Price, 86, of Cave Quarter Estates, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle and Dr. Park.

Born April 23, 1922, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Holland and Sallie McKee Price.

His first wife, Dorthea Jean Price, died March 23, 1974.

He was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School, class of 1940, and attended Shepherd College. He played basketball in high school, college and the Army. He also lettered in football in high school and college.

He retired after more than 20 years from the 3M plant, Middeway, W.Va., in the administrative department.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and a former member of Shepherds- town Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of Shepherds- town High School Alumni, 3M Achievers, Shepherdstown Lions Club and Kabletown CEOS.

He is survived by his second wife of 34 years, Margaret "Peggy" Price; children, Nancy Moshier of Charles Town, Donald Weller of Shanghi, W.Va., Frederick Weller of Falling Waters, W.Va., Margie L. Fox of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Lisa Gray of Baker Heights, W.Va.; one brother, Dr. James C. Price of Shepherdstown; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one niece.

He was preceded in death by one son, James T. Price, and one brother, H. McKee Price.

Memorial services will be Monday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Oakland United Methodist Church in Charles Town. The Revs. Joanne Alexander and Kent Tice will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, at a later date.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oakland United Methodist Church, 70 Oakland Terrace, Charles Town, WV 25414 or to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
