'America's Most Wanted' television program to honor slain Smithsburg police officer

July 04, 2008

Slain Smithsburg Police Officer Christopher Shane Nicholson, shot while assisting the Washington County Sheriff's Department in December 2007, will be featured Saturday on a national television program.

"America's Most Wanted" regularly airs a feature called "In the Line of Duty," which honors law enforcement officers killed on the job, a spokeswoman for the television show said Thursday in an e-mail.

The program will air Saturday at 9 p.m. on Fox.

Douglas W. Pryor, 29, is awaiting trial in connection with Nicholson's death, and the death of Pryor's estranged girlfriend, 31-year-old Alison Munson.

Pryor, who is scheduled to appear in court Monday, could  face the death penalty if convicted of Nicholson's death.
