Mary L. Reesor, 86



FEB. 14, 1922-JUNE 30, 2008

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Mary Louise Carmack Reesor, 86, of 3 N. Allison St., died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Manorcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Feb. 14, 1922, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James R. and Ida Mae Robinson Carmack.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. Reesor. They were married March 13, 1946. He died June 24, 1980.

She was a housekeeper for Don Hummer at the Antrim House.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley R. Simmers and Diane C. Davis, both of Greencastle; one son, Claude W. Reesor Jr. of Fort Loudon, Pa.; three sisters, Jacquelin Mann and Belle Wagner, both of Mercersburg, and Mabel Woods of South Carolina; one brother, Harold Carmack of Hustontown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelba King; four sisters, Helen Williams, Marge Mankoski, Virginia Wolfe and Audrey Butterbaugh; three brothers, Rusty Carmack, Paul Carmack and Clarence Carmack; one grandson, James R. Reesor; and one great-grandson, Nicholas King.

Services will Thursday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. Pastor Keith Bowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.




Walter J. Johnson, 67

FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Walter J. Johnson, 67, of Sweetwater Road, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Woodland Retirement Home in Orbisonia, Pa.

Born Oct. 6, 1940, in Lancaster, Pa., he was the son of the late Jesse and Louise Dillman Johnson.

He was employed by Hockenberry's Processing.

He is survived by one son, Walter J. Johnson Jr. of Enola, Pa.; one sister, Shirley Johnson of Doylesburg, Pa.; and four brothers, Dwight Johnson, Larry Johnson and Eugene Johnson, all of Doylesburg, and Lawrence Johnson of Spring Run, Pa.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joan Johnson.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, Pa. The Rev. John Semple will officiate. Burial will be in Doylesburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.




David E. Seville, Jr., 73

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - David E. Seville Jr., 73, of Chambersburg, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Oct. 9, 1934, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the youngest child of the late David E. Seville Sr. and Emma Fittery Seville Brandt.

He worked as a cabinetmaker for the former Hennessy Products in Chambersburg.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Thomas Seville; six children, Rodney Seville, Ronald Seville and Ashley Seville, all of Chambersburg, Teressa Davis of Newville, Pa., Brian Seville of Greencastle, Pa., and Wanetta Lepiz of Gardners, Pa.; two sisters, Stella Mellott of Mercersburg, Pa., and Olive Sisney of McConnellsburg, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by three daughters, Tina Carrol, Sherry Seville and Crystal Seville; and one sister, Pauline Monn.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg, with military graveside honors by the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.

Viewing will be one hour prior to services.




Betty E. Martin, 61



APRIL 21, 1947-JUNE 30, 2008

Betty E. Martin, 61, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at her home.

Born April 21, 1947, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Dorothy J. Stoner Martin.

She previously was employed by the Washington County SPCA.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Stickler; a longtime friend and caretaker, Mary Ann Rowland; a special friend, John Wolfe; two nephews; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; one aunt; and one uncle.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

It was her wish that her body be donated to science.




Florence G. Brandenburg, 90



JUNE 14, 1918-JUNE 30, 2008

BURKITTSVILLE, Md. - Florence G. Brandenburg, 90, formerly of Burkittsville, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.

Born June 14, 1918, in Wolfsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harvey R. and Pearl M. Wolf Kline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Brandenburg, in 1994.

She farmed in the Burkittsville area for 30 years.

She is survived by six children, Leah Martin and Charles Brandenburg, both of Middletown, Md., Grace Garver of Mount Airy, Md., Harold Brandenburg of Burkittsville, Carol Norris of Frederick, and Virginia Axline of Woodsboro, Md.; one sister, Betty Jane Frazier of Wolfsville; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur R. Brandenburg and Paul E. Brandenburg; and one great-grandson, Wilbur Martin.
