Tri-State Independence Day celebrations planned

The following is a list of Independence Day celebrations:


· Clear Spring Independence Jam Celebration, Plumb Grove Mansion off Broadfording Road, Clear Spring. Starts at 5 p.m. Christian-country bluegrass-rock bands, games for youngsters, food. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Rain date is July 6.


· Town of Williamsport, Byron Memorial Park. Pancake breakfast, 6 to 10 a.m. in community building, 5K race, gymnastics demos, live music and food. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Rain date is Saturday.

· Fountain Head Country Club, Hagerstown. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m., members only. Rain date is Saturday.

· Fairgrounds Park, Hagerstown. Opening ceremony, 6 p.m., live music starting at 6:30 p.m., food, activities for youngsters. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Rain date is Saturday.


· Waynesboro (Pa.) Summer Jubilee, off East Main Street across from Waynesboro Hospital. Firecracker 5K and 1-mile children's fun run, 8:30 a.m.; parade down Main Street, 10:30 a.m.; arts and crafts vendors, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children's games, pie-eating contest, money machine, food, pony rides, petting zoo, bands and bicycle raffles. Fireworks at dusk. Rain date for fireworks only is Saturday.

· A Day at the Park, Memorial Park, Chambersburg, Pa. Antique car show, 1 to 5 p.m. Formal military flag retreat at 7 p.m., followed by Mercersburg (Pa.) Community Band concert. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Rain date is Saturday.

· War Memorial Park in Martinsburg, W.Va. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with DJ, mini-train rides and a moon bounce. Pony rides, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; balloon sculptures, 7 to 9 p.m.; miniature golf course; and pool. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Rain date for fireworks only is Saturday.

· Old-time July 4 parade and community picnic in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Parade, 11 a.m. on German Street; picnic, noon to 3:30 p.m., Morgans Grove Park.


· Maryland Symphony Orchestra's Salute to Independence, Antietam National Battlefield, fireworks at nightfall. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. No rain date.


· Shafer Memorial Park, Boonsboro, 5 p.m. Food, face painting, DJ and Rohrersville Band performance. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Rain date is Monday.
