WILLIAMSPORT -- Four days after pounding out 14 hits in their 14-2 win over South Mountain, the Hancock Little League All-Stars again showed off their bats Tuesday as they beat Valley 14-3 in the Maryland District 1 Senior Tournament.

In the top of the first, Hancock scored two runs on three singles, stealing three bases along the way.

Hancock continued to put pressure on the Valley defense in the second, scoring five runs on four hits and two errors to take a 7-1 lead.

David Weller got Hancock's rally started with a double to left and scored on a single by Dylan Whiteside. Derek Younkers and Lucas Trunkle also had RBI singles in the inning.

Hancock batted around in the fifth, sending 11 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs on five hits and four walks to make the final score 14-3. Trunkle ignited the rally with a two-run homer to left-center and capped it with a two-run single. In between, Whiteside hit a two-run double and Logan True added an RBI double.

"They just started waiting on the balls," said Hancock coach Harry Lanehart of his team's fifth-inning rally. "They were a little bit anxious, this being an elimination game, and they started looking for the singles again."

Trunkle finished with three hits and five RBIs and also pitched four innings for the win.

"(Trunkle) hasn't gotten much work this year, but he got us to the 10-run rule and then we could bring in the closer," Lanehart said.

Valley leadoff hitter Josh Fazenbaker drove in all three of his team's runs. He smacked his first career home run in the first inning and doubled to left in the second, scoring Justin Clark and Casey Graves.
