19 area students accept appointments to military academies

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-6th, announced that 19 of his constituents have accepted U.S. Military Academy appointments for the class of 2012.

U.S. Air Force Academy

· Patrick Bodnar, Sykesville, Century High School

· Allana Gallant, Gaithersburg, Damascus High School

· Jason Groose, Eldersburg, Liberty High School

· John Limpert, Mount Airy, Linganore High School

· Randall Ott, Frederick, Urbana High School

U.S. Military Academy, West Point

· Benjamin Thomas, Jarrettsville, Baltimore Lutheran High School


· Patrick Hammond, Williamsport, Williamsport High School

· Scott Meade, White Hall, Hereford High School

U.S. Naval Academy

· Daniel Almonte, Sykesville, Liberty High School

· David Rose, Frostburg, Mountain Ridge High School

· Kierstin King, Upperco, Hereford High School

· Laura Nevin, Hampstead, Mount de Sales Academy

· Kyle Couillard, Germantown, Damascus High School

· Ryan Couillard, Germantown, Damascus High School

· Hans Vreeland, Sykesville, Century High School

· Charles Merrill, Walkersville, Walkersville High School

Congressional appointments are required for all but the Coast Guard Academy, to which the students directly apply.
