Belt 20th at Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. - Tone Belt finished 20th out of 24 competitors in the preliminary round of the men's long jump Friday night at the U.S. Olympic Trials with a leap of 24 feet, 7 inches. The top 12 advanced to today's finals.

Belt, a 2005 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School, missed the entire 2008 collegiate season at the University of Louisville while recovering from a knee injury.

Belt's personal best in the long jump came during his sophomore year at the 2007 NCAA indoor championships, as he leapt 26-1 3/4 to win the title. He was the NCAA runner-up that spring at the outdoor championships.
