District 1 9-10 Tournament

South Mountain 16, Sharpsburg 6

BOONSBORO -- Logan Taulton hit a grand slam and Spencer Griffin drove in the game-ending run in the fourth inning as South Mountain eliminated Sharpsburg in a losers' bracket game.

Griffin had three hits and four RBIs and Tanner Johnson had two hits and three RBIs for South Mountain, which will host Maugansville tonight at 6. Maugansville defeated American on Thursday.

Austin Getridge had a two-run double and John Williamson also doubled for Sharpsburg.

District 1 9-10 Tournament

National 10, Federal 4

Colton Repp and Camden Michael each had two hits to lead National over Federal in a losers' bracket game at National.

Mitchell Wilson struck out six for National, which hosts Halfway today.

Malik Carey had four hits, Ryan Brown had three and Tim Kolb added two for Federal, which was eliminated.

Susquehanna: Nick Hill 3 RBIs; Dylan Bopson 2 RBIs; winning pitcher Seth Hall, C.J. Elwood 2 hits each.

Royals: James Jordan 3 hits, HR; Tim Leather, Joey Miller, Cory Morgan 2 hits each.

St.Lawrence: Chad Hutzell 2 hits.

LEGION BASEBALL



Funkstown 11, Charles Town 8

FUNKSTOWN -- Colby Fisher and Josh Constable each hit a two-run homer and Zeke Ricketts added a solo shot to lead Funkstown Post 211 to a win over Charles Town.

Brandon Knight went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Fisher and Marcellus Sumlin each had two hits for Funkstown (7-4).
