Clear Spring senior Josh Constable is the 2008 Herald-Mail Washington County Baseball Pitcher of the Year, Williamsport senior A.J. Jamison is the Washington County Baseball Hitter of the Year, and Clear Spring's Mark Shives is the Washington County Baseball Coach of the Year.

The rest of the 2008 Herald-Mail Washington County Baseball First Team:

Brandon Knight, South Hagerstown, Sr., P

Knight went 6-0 with a 1.88 ERA for the Rebels. In 41 2/3 innings, he allowed 22 hits and 20 walks while striking out 67 for the Maryland Class 2A West champs.

John Kehr, Clear Spring, Sr., P

Kehr went 6-1 with a 1.40 ERA for the Blazers. In 44 innings, he allowed 19 hits and 13 walks while striking out 59.


Tim Leather, South Hagerstown, Sr., P

Leather went 8-0 with a 1.85 ERA for the Rebels, allowing 44 hits and 19 walks while striking out 76 in 53 innings.

Jordan Thurber, Clear Spring, Jr., 1B

Thurber hit .434 (23-for-53) with seven doubles, seven homers and 30 RBIs while walking 25 times and scoring 17 runs.

Todd Jacobson, South Hagerstown, Sr., 2B

Jacobson hit .431 (25-for-58) with four doubles and scored 17 runs for the Rebels.

Tyler Presgraves, South Hagers-town, So., 3B

Presgraves hit .359 (23-for-64) with three doubles, seven homers and 20 RBIs. He walked 13 times and scored 23 runs.

J.J. O'Neill, St. Maria Goretti, Jr., SS

O'Neill hit .458 (33-for-72) with seven doubles, six homers and 34 RBIs for the Gaels. He scored 29 runs and walked 16 times.

David Bowen, St. Maria Goretti, Sr., OF

Bowen hit .500 (45-for-90) with eight doubles and 14 RBIs and scored 40 runs with the help of 17 steals.

Aaron Mills, Clear Spring, Sr., OF

Mills hit .448 (22-for-49) with seven doubles, three homers and 18 RBIs, while scoring 24 runs, stealing 12 bases and walking 11 times.

Jake Pendergraft, Boonsboro, Sr., OF

Pendergraft hit .377 (26-for-69) with eight doubles, four homers and 25 RBIs while scoring 20 runs for the Warriors.

Josh Conway, Smithsburg, Jr., Util.

Conway hit .462 (30-for-65) with nine doubles, three homers and 23 RBIs for the Leopards. He walked 15 times and scored 19 runs.

Kyle Crist, Clear Spring, Jr., DH

Crist hit .488 (21-for-43) with five doubles, one homer and 10 RBIs while scoring 16 runs.
