Kidnapping reported outside convenience store in Berkeley County

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department is investigating a reported kidnapping outside the 7-Eleven convenience store early Tuesday in Baker Heights, W.Va., east of Martinsburg.

A witness told police that he heard a female scream outside the store and then saw her being punched by a black male who then dragged her to a silver, four-door sedan, which then sped away, according to a news release by the Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputy Thomas Carroll responded to investigate the incident at 3:17 a.m. Witness Terry Kilmer told police that the female had been inside the store just before the incident happened.
