Greencastle education foundation awards scholarships

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle-Antrim Education Foundation awarded eight scholarships to local students at its annual celebration banquet at the Antrim House Restaurant last week.

The Ambassador Award Scholarship, given to a graduating senior from the Greencastle-Antrim community who has demonstrated leadership through community service activities, was awarded to Sarah Jo Louzon, a senior at Greencastle-Antrim High School.

She will receive up to $10,000 - $2,500 per year - for her college education at Grove City College. She aspires to a career in education.

In an effort to recognize the high quality of the students who applied, the Foundation also made Ambassador Book Awards of $100 each to seven Ambassador Award Scholarship finalists from Greencastle-Antrim High School. They are Katie Herman, Hannah Izer, Diana Stottlemyer, Katie Lutz, Kacie Oberholzer, Roxanne DeWalt and Noel Fridgen.

The Greencastle-Antrim Education Foundation is a community, business and school district supported nonprofit organization created to provide for and enhance educational opportunities for all members of the Greencastle-Antrim community.
