Rodger-Taylor

John and Cheryl Rodger of Frederick, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Joy Rodger to Jesse Allen Taylor, son of Allen and Erma Taylor of Hagerstown.

Miss Rodger is a 2005 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and is attending Frostburg State University, pursuing a degree in social work. She plans to graduate in May 2009.

Mr. Taylor is a 1998 graduate of Heritage Academy, and served three years in the U.S. Navy. He is a graduate of Hagerstown Community College and Frostburg State University. He plans to receive a master's degree in professional accountancy from West Virginia University in July.

Carbaugh-Farris

Kendra Marie Carbaugh and Brian Michael Farris announce their engagement.

Miss Carbaugh is the daughter of Wilbur and Susanna Carbaugh of Hagerstown. She is a 2003 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She is employed as a product service associate with Lowe's in Hagerstown.

Mr. Farris is the son of Brian Keith Farris of Hagerstown, and Debra and Rick Beeman of Cumberland, Md. He is a 1999 graduate of Allegany High School. He is owner of Backbreakers Moving Company in Hagerstown.

A Sept. 20, 2008, wedding is planned.

Salvador-Bowers

Rachel Salvador and Travis Bowers of Chambersburg, Pa., announce their engagement.

Ms. Salvador is the daughter of Virginia Grove of Hagerstown. She is a 2002 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 2008 graduate of Frostburg State University with a bachelor's degree is sociology. She is employed as a paralegal with Miller, Oliver, Baker, Moylan & Stone in Hagerstown.

Mr. Bowers is the son of Forest and Darlene Bowers of Chambersburg. He is a 2001 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and a 2007 graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and supply chain management. He is employed with Daymon Worldwide Enterprises in Carlisle, Pa.

A May 2009, wedding is planned.

Dixon-Lauver

William and Christina Dixon announce the engagement of their daughter, Rie Rae, to Eric Jay Lauver.

Miss Dixon is a 2001 graduate of Homer-Center Junior-Senior High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in music and political science and a minor in economics. She is employed as a music teacher for Immaculate Conception School in New Oxford, Pa. and New Life Christian School in Frederick, Md. She plans to join the instrumental music staff in the West Allegheny School District in the fall.

Mr. Lauver is the son of Jay and Vicki Lauver of Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 2001 and received a bachelor's degree in music education in 2005 and a master's degree in saxophone performance in 2007, both from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is employed as the director of bands at Boonsboro High School. In the fall, he plans to be an elementary/middle school band director with Bethel Park School District.

A July 12, 2008, wedding is planned.
