Heritage Academy class of 2008

Heritage Academy valedictorian Benjamin Allen Martin is the son of Duane and Sharon Martin and has the distinction of being the first graduate having attended Heritage since kindergarten who has a parent who also attended the school from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. 

While at Heritage Ben participated in basketball and also helped with the school production of I Remember Mama.  Ben is currently employed at Martin Siding and will be attending Hagerstown Community College in the fall majoring in engineering.

Salutatorian Megan Elizabeth Mowen is the daughter of Bob and Melba Mowen.  During her four years at Heritage Academy, Megan was actively involved in journalism. She served as yearbook editor in both her junior and senior years. 

At graduation she was presented with the Journalism Achievement Award. Megan was also blessed to receive the Rawlings Grant and the SCIODA Family Scholarship as well as being chosen for the Elks National Foundation 'Most Valuable Student' Scholarship.  She will begin her studies in the fall at HCC majoring in graphic design technology, before transferring to University of the cumberlands in Kentucky, where she will major in communications.
