June 20, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A month of summer Wednesday mornings will be filled with discovery for area children who attend Renfrew Institute's program, "Wednesdays in the Park: Nose to Nose with Nature." Designed for children completing kindergarten through third grade, the program will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, June 25, through July 30, at Renfrew Park.

The program explores the best spots in the park with Renfrew Institute environmental instructor, Stephanie "Firefly" Kober. Tools such as magnifying lenses, bug boxes, and make-your-own nature's kaleidoscopes, plus stories, secret missions, music and games will be featured. Participants should bring old sneakers for wading in the creek.

The cost for the program is $3 per child, per session. Children may attend one or more sessions. Registration is not required. Those wishing to attend should meet at the visitors center at Renfrew Park.

Parking is available in Renfrew's lower lot off Welty Road. In case of rain or for information, call 717-762-0373.
