Mosquito spraying scheduled in Waynesboro area

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Washington and Quincy townships and the Borough of Waynesboro are scheduled for mosquito sprayings Wednesday evening, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

A truck will spray Biomist 3 + 15 to control populations of adult mosquitoes, which can carry the West Nile Virus, the news release stated.

State officials announced Friday that in Luzerne County, Pa., they found the first mosquitoes to test positive for the virus.
