Hagerstown to take applications for hunting at Edgemont Watershed

June 18, 2008

The City of Hagerstown will accept applications from July 1 to Aug. 15 for permission to hunt on city property at the Edgemont Watershed.

Applications may be picked up at the Water Division offices at 51 W. Memorial Blvd. from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants will be required to submit a nonrefundable application fee of $10 and a copy of a hunting license that is valid through Dec. 31.

The city will accept 50 applications. If more than 50 are received, a drawing will be held to ensure fairness. Out-of-county applicants will be considered, but preference will be given to Washington County residents. The successful applicants will be notified by mail before Sept. 15.

Permits to hunt on the land will be valid from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, unless those dates are changed by the mayor and City Council.
