Maryland dairy youth eligible for scholarships

Maryland dairy youth who are currently enrolled in or have been enrolled in a 4-H/FFA dairy project (all dairy breeds) and are pursuing a four-year degree in any agricultural program at the college of choice may apply for the Maryland Dairy Scholarships.

Two $4,000 scholarships are available to entering college freshmen through those entering their senior years. The scholarships can be won twice, but applicants must apply each year.

Applications can be obtained by contacting Arthur and Peggy Johnson, co-chairs, 22520 Mount Ephraim Road, Dickerson, MD 20842. A recent wallet-size photo and a current official transcript must accompany each application.

To be considered, applications must be typed in the space allotted and postmarked no later than July 1.

The scholarships are made possible through the donation of a Friend of Maryland Dairy Youth and 4-H. The scholarships, awarded since 1998, are presented at the Maryland State Fair during the Dairy Awards Program.
