Suns end first half with win

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Aaron Seuss' two-run single was the big blow in Hagerstown's three-run fifth inning Sunday as the Suns finished the South Atlantic League first half with a 6-2 victory over the Lake County Captains.

Michael Burgess hit a solo homer for Hagerstown (34-35), giving him 14 on the season. Stephen King doubled and came around to score the Suns' first run in the second inning, and Boomer Whiting singled and came aroudn to score for a 2-0 lead in the third.

Erik Arnesen (6-1) allowed one run and one walk while striking out six in five innings to earn the win. His only blemish came on Karexon Sanchez's two-run homer in the fourth for the Captains.

* Lake County clinched the South Atlantic League's Northern Division first-half title with a 7-3 victory in Saturday's late seven-inning game. Burgess homered for the Suns.
