Trolley service to canal offered today

June 14, 2008

Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau will sponsor trolley service between Discovery Station and Cushwa Basin from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. The trolley is being provided so visitors can experience both the new C&O Canal exhibit at Discovery Station and the traveling National Park Canal exhibit at the Trolley Barn at Cushwa Basin.

The open air trolley, owned by Jim Burns, seats about 25 people and a round-trip ticket will cost $2 per person. It is expected to depart from Discovery Station on the hour and from the Trolley Barn at Cushwa Basin on the half hour.

The C&O Canal exhibit celebrates and explains the C&O Canal and its local significance.
