Discovery Station offering special trolley ride for families

June 13, 2008

Area families can take a round-trip trolley ride from Discovery Station to the Cushwa Basin on Saturday for $5. The ride costs $2 for individuals.

The trolley service will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The trolley is being provided so visitors can experience both the new permanent C&O Canal Exhibit at Discovery Station and the traveling National Park Canal exhibit at the Trolley Barn at Cushwa Basin.

The open air trolley, owned by Jim Burns, seats approximately 25 people. It is expected to depart from Discovery Station, 101 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, approximately every hour and from the Trolley Barn at Cushwa Basin approximately every half hour.

The new permanent C&O Canal Exhibit at Discovery Station celebrates and explains the C&O Canal and its local significance.

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the trolley service.

For more information, call Discovery Station at 301-790-0076.
