Back from Europe

Chrystal Klein of Maugansville is just back from Europe, where she finished her spring study abroad program with Mary Baldwin College. Chrystal enjoyed England and stayed in London for the May term. She also visited Disneyland Resort Paris with classmates. Chrystal finished her freshman year at Mary Baldwin in Virginia with a 3.8 GPA and will return as a sophomore in August.

Fifth-grade grads

Robert Mongan and his fellow fifth-graders from Maugansville Elementary School had their "graduation" ceremony May 29. The "graduating class" will continue their education at Western Middle School in the fall. Congratulations go out to all!

'Kevin's Fund' golf

The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host its fifth annual "Kevin's Fund" golf tournament Friday, June 27, at Black Rock Golf Course. The shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. A buffet luncheon will follow the tournament.


In the past 4 years, the Ruritan club, through the Kevin Lumm Memorial Fund, has donated more than $36,000 to help local children with medical and special needs and the Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA). Lucky 13 raffle

The fire company's Lucky 13 money raffle will be held Saturday at the Williamsport Fire Station. To purchase a ticket, call 301-797-6770 or see any fire company members. You have a chance to win $1,300.
