Around South Hagerstown (June 9)

June 12, 2008|By STACI CLIPP / 240-291-0916

Even though the calendar doesn't say summer yet, it sure does feels like it, what with the days longer, the kids out of school and the temperature rising!

The kids and I have been riding bikes in the evenings. I have noticed that when you're "just a kid" riding a bike, not many people look, but if you're an adult bike riding, you seem to get a lot of stares, as I'm sure those of you who ride have noticed! It doesn't bother me, though, It's a nice way to get outside and get some exercise and sun - especially after being at work all day!

Starting Sunday at 9:30 a.m., St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church's Sunday informal service will move outside, weather-permitting. The Book of Faith conversation complements the traditional Sunday services, including 8 and 10:45 a.m. services and Midweek Joy, the contemporary service on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., which also move outside to the church courtyard, weather-permitting.
