Aderon C. Harris, 57

JULY 7, 1950-JUNE 6, 2008

RANSON, W.Va. - Aderon Covington Harris, 57, of Ranson, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Born July 7, 1950, in Ranson, he was the son of George Leo Harris of Ranson and the late Thelma Gertrude Davis Harris.

He worked as a registered traveling nurse.

He was a Bible student at Charles Town Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

Aside from his father, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dr. Debra Harris, Ph.D., of Ranson; two daughters, Angela S. Harris of Texas and Haley J. Harris of Ranson; one son, Harrison D. Harris of Ranson; one sister, Joyce Harris of New Jersey; three brothers, Aaron Harris of Ranson, Leo Harris of Laurel, Md., and Ed Hall of Bolivar, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.


Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home. Ed Hall will officiate. A celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. at River Lot 942, John Rissler Road in Charles Town, W.Va.

Friends may call 30 minutes prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Carlton J. Payne, 83

LOVETTSVILLE, Va. - Carlton Jennings "C.J." Payne, 83, of Lovettsville, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at his home.

Born May 28, 1925, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Carlton J. Payne Sr. and Mae Estelle Payne.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marguerite Grimes Payne.

He was a contractor and former owner of C. J. Payne Heating and Cooling Inc.

He was a member of the Lions Club of Lovettsville, Moose Club 1158 of Brunswick, Md., and Eagles Club 1136 of Brunswick.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Payne and Patrick A. Payne, both of Lovettsville; six grandchildren, Max Payne of Sterling, Va., Jeremy Payne of Leesburg, Va., Charse Durnil of Brunswick, Robin Mack of Ashburn, Va., and Mathew Payne and Andrew Payne, both of Haymarket, Va.; three great-grandchildren; and his fiance, Elizabeth Williams of Taylorstown, Va.

He was preceded in death by one son, Chester F. Payne.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Knoxville, Md. The Rev. Ed Jordan will officiate.

Craig A. Miller, 36

SMITHSBURG - Craig A. Miller, 36, of Foxville Road, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at his home.

Born June 15, 1971, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Lois G. Barkdoll Miller of Edgemont, Md., and the late Stanley Richard Miller.

He was a 1989 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

He was a member of South Mountain Rod and Gun Club of Smithsburg.

He was employed by CSX Railway in Brunswick, Md.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Dennis R. Miller, Tom Miller and Ricky Miller, all of Edgemont, and Curtis E. Miller of Hagers- town; nieces; and nephews.

A memorial service will be Monday at 7 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Pastor Julie Brigham will officiate.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Smithsburg at the convenience of the family.

Louise A. Iseminger, 90

Louise Armatha Kauffman Iseminger, 90, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at her home.

Born Dec. 19, 1917, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Minta Bonebrake Kauffman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Maynard Iseminger, in 1987.

She worked at Interwoven Stocking in Hagerstown for 26 years and at Ward Leonard Electronics in Hagerstown for 25 years.

She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Lehman; and five brothers, Norman B. Kauffman, Warren E. Kauffman Sr., Raymond Kauffman, Ira P. Kauffman Sr. and Orville Kauffman.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard H. Jewell will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pearl N. Long, 84, of 333 Mill St., Hagerstown, and formerly of North Cannon Avenue, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Aug. 20, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Noah Arthur and Emma A. Plunkert Hines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis Long Jr., in 1988.

She was employed by the Tortuga Restaurant for 30 years.

She was a Protestant.
