Hagerstown man acquitted of assault charge

June 11, 2008

A Hagerstown man who was being held on $100,000 bond in an assault case was released Tuesday after a judge acquitted him of the charge, Washington County District Court records show.

Rudolph Cameron Brown, 47, of 914 Summit Ave., pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree assault in an April 7 incident, and Judge Janice Rodnick Ambrose acquitted him, court records show.

Brown is awaiting a jury trial on another second-degree assault charge in a February incident, court records show. He was out on bond in that case when he was arrested early April 7 on the more recent charge.
